G2 Gallery presents an online exhibition of works by Pedro Friedeberg. Featuring paintings, drawings, prints, and his iconic sculptural furniture, the show highlights Friedeberg’s intricate style and imaginative defiance of minimalism.
G2 Gallery is pleased to announce a special online exhibition of works by Pedro Friedeberg, now available on Artsy. This curated presentation celebrates the fantastical world of the iconic Mexican surrealist through a selection of drawings, prints, and his renowned sculptural furniture. Recognized for his meticulous compositions, symbolic density, and architectural illusions, Friedeberg has forged a singular path in Latin American art. His iconic Hand-Chair, first designed in 1962, remains a hallmark of his irreverent, anti-functional approach to design. Blending ornate detail, spiritual symbolism, and a playful baroque aesthetic, his work challenges minimalism and embraces visual excess. With a career spanning more than six decades, Friedeberg’s work is included in major collections such as MoMA, LACMA, the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, and the Smithsonian. Still active today, he continues to produce intricate, idiosyncratic pieces that remain as compelling and enigmatic as ever. Works marked as available may be inquired about or acquired.
